All ages, all contemporary styles, all purposes
When people ask the question: what is your favorite instrument, guitar or bass guitar, my answer always honestly is: both. Neither can I, nor do I believe that I must, choose one. I love them both, for different reasons, and they mean different, but equally important things to me. They obviously translate into different musical roles in ensembles. The main thing for you is, that I have significant skill and performance experience on, and passion for, both instruments, and love to pass-on that experience, skill and passion to others in the context of someone’s dreams, goals, ambitions. So, on that note, if you would come to me for guitar or bass guitar lessons, my first question to you would be: what do you want to achieve with it? Obviously, every student is different: some want to be the next Pat Metheny, Jimi Hendrix or Victor Wooten, others want to be able to strum along as they sing songs, some want to join the music team in their church, others want to learn the classical guitar etc… Some have experience and wish to improve, others are beginning from scratch. Also, people vary in the way they best learn and process information.
If you want us to give some emphasis to learning the basics of formal music theory along with learning to play your instrument, of course that’s possible, either or not including the working with music notation and arranging software (click HERE for more details)!
In short: a taylor-made approach for your individual, specific needs and situation is my approach.
